Greetings!
I am a visual artist. If I had to describe myself in simple terms, that would be it. The creative process is part of what drives me and who I am.
I truly strive to keep myself well-rounded and always on top of the latest technology and programs that drive the multimedia design industry.
Professional . . .
I have been a multimedia designer and manager in the Washington D.C. area for over 14 years – the most recent position as Lead Creative Designer at the corporate headquarters of Exelis, an aerospace and defense contractor based in McLean, VA. I also have industry and management experience in other fields, among them; Poplar Forest Golf Course and Starbucks Corporation. I currently own and operate a small LLC., and am the co-owner of a small DC Metro-based Inc.
I hold a B.F.A in Art & Visual Technology from George Mason University, Cum Laude; and an A.A.S. in Communication Design from Central Virginia Community College, Magna Cum Laude.
Personal. . .
Growing up as the proud son of a Military Intelligence Officer, I have had the incredible opportunity of living in Europe for 6 years. It was there where I began collecting rich experiences that would not only influence myself as a designer, but as a person as well.
I still love to travel whenever the opportunity affords itself, and among other things, I also enjoy golfing, playing blues harmonica, creating artwork for an upcoming gallery show, and spending quality time with family and friends.
It’s not about ideas, it’s about making ideas happen . . .
Artist . . .
I like to think of my style as a sort of dynamic flow, with a solid foundation, yet easily adaptable to fit a particular situation or project as called for. I constantly study the world around me, in hopes of gaining a better understanding of how I can become a better visual artist, and continually strive to push my art concepts and ideas through creative imagery, technique and style.
I am actively involved in the art community, and have showcased or participated in over 75 shows and events over the past 10 years. I also make appearances as an art instructor in the area, and was recently featured in a spotlight article by the Washington Post for art workshops I’ve taught in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington D.C.
